Festival

Site map

The site map holds the points of interest on your festival site: gates, medical and first aid, water, toilets, food and bars, info, ATMs, accessibility, lost and found, parking, camping, production and stages. Each location can carry coordinates and shows as a pin on a satellite map. In the left menu, under Festival, choose Site map. It belongs to FestivalOps (and ActionOps). Owners, admins, managers, ops and coordinators can edit it. For a drawn plan of the site, use the CAD editor instead.

How do I add a location?

  1. At the top of the left menu, under Festivals, pick the festival.
  2. In the left menu, under Festival, choose Site map.
  3. Choose Add location.
  4. Type the Name (required, for example "Main Gate").
  5. Pick the Type, and add a Zone (optional) and Status.
  6. Type the Latitude and Longitude, or leave them empty.
  7. Add Notes if you like and choose Add location.

How do I drop a pin on the map?

Click (or tap) the spot on the map. The Add location form opens with Latitude and Longitude already filled in from where you clicked. Give it a name and type and choose Add location. The map opens on satellite view, and once there are pins it zooms to fit them.

How do I edit or delete a location?

  1. Choose the location in the list under the map, or choose its pin on the map.
  2. Change any field and choose Save.

To delete it, open it, choose Delete and confirm. To keep it but hide it from your acts' "whole site map", set Status to Inactive instead; inactive locations show faded in the list.

Why is there no map, only a list?

The map needs Google Maps to be connected for your workspace. Without it you see "Site map appears here once Google Maps is connected for this workspace" and your locations are still listed below, grouped by type, with their coordinates. A location with no coordinates shows "No coordinates" and has no pin.

How do I filter the site map by type?

Use the All types dropdown above the list. The list and the pins on the map both narrow to that type. Next to it you see how many locations there are and how many are mapped, and a colour key for each type in use.

Can my acts see the site map?

Only if you share it. In Advances (or Bookings > Acts) choose What your acts see…, then the Site map tab, and pick Private (your team only), Locations you tick or Whole site map (every active location). Acts linked to your festival on GigOps then see the shared locations, with directions, on their festival link.

How is the site map different from Credentials zones?

The site map is where things are on the ground. Access-control zones (who may enter backstage, the pit and so on) are set up in Credentials. The Zone field on a location is a free-text label to help you group locations, not an access zone.

Why can't I add locations?

Adding, editing and deleting locations is limited to owner, admin, manager, ops and coordinator roles. Finance, Legal and View only seats can read the site map at most, and only when a Company Admin turns it on for them.
