Mobile apps
GigOps has iPhone and iPad apps for the people who work on site: GigOps Crew for crew, GigOps Athlete for athletes at ActionOps events, GigOps Company for Company Admins and Company Users, and GigOps Scan for the phone or tablet at a gate. Each app uses the same sign-in as the matching web app, so there is nothing extra to set up for your team. GigOps Company, GigOps Athlete and GigOps Scan are on the App Store now; GigOps Crew is coming soon, and until then crew use GigOps Crew in their phone's browser.
Where do I get the apps?
On the App Store, free to download:
- GigOps Company is listed on the App Store as GigOps: https://apps.apple.com/app/gigops/id6820334071
- GigOps Athlete: https://apps.apple.com/app/gigops-athlete/id6820334121
- GigOps Scan: https://apps.apple.com/app/gigops-scan/id6820334238
- GigOps Crew is coming to the App Store. Until it is there, crew open GigOps Crew in their phone's browser with the link from their welcome email; it works the same way.
Each app needs iOS 17 or later and runs on iPhone and iPad. Downloading is free: GigOps Company needs a Company User or View only seat, and GigOps Crew, GigOps Athlete and GigOps Scan use the crew, athlete and scanner sign-ins your company already gives out.
Which app should each person use?
- GigOps Crew: crew members (production, runners, security, drivers, judges). Same login as GigOps Crew on the web.
- GigOps Athlete: athletes at an ActionOps event. Same login as GigOps Athlete on the web.
- GigOps Company: you and your Company Users, with your normal GigOps email and password, or Sign in with SSO where your company uses single sign-on.
- GigOps Scan: the device a guard uses at a gate, signed in with a scanner link, an office login, a security crew login or a crew badge.
Each app refuses the wrong kind of account at sign-in and says which app to use instead.
What can crew do in the GigOps Crew app?
The app has the same features as GigOps Crew on the web: Badge (the rotating QR code, their credentials and passes from other companies), Schedule (with the venue forecast, calendar link and day sheet), Travel and To-Do. Under More: report an incident, Timecard, Equipment, Tickets, Transport, Runner, Logistics (logistics crew and managers), Merch (merch sellers), Scan (security crew only), Notifications and Help. Judges get a Judging tab, and a venue's house crew a Shifts tab. Tabs for modules a Company Admin switched off are hidden, as on the web.
What does the iPhone app add for crew?
- A driver or runner shift keeps sharing location while the phone is locked, until the shift ends.
- The credential scanner uses the phone's own camera reader.
- Receipts for expenses come straight from the photo library.
- Sign-in with Face ID or Touch ID: the app offers it after the first password sign-in, and it can be switched on or off under More > Account. With it on, the app also locks on launch and after five minutes in the background.
What is in the GigOps Athlete app?
The same five tabs as GigOps Athlete on the web: My comps (comps, bib, start order, heat, practice and inspection slots), Results (live place and run scores, with the comp's Leaderboard), Travel, Pass (the rotating QR code) and Alerts. Face ID sign-in, the app lock and the event switcher work as in the crew app.
What can I do in the GigOps Company app?
GigOps Company is the office app for Company Admins and Company Users. It has Today, Shows (each show's day sheet, crew, guest list, advance and travel), Crew and Tasks, and under More the inbox, notifications, calendar, travel, Signatures and your account. Everything else opens in the web app. The app follows your company's product (for example, a PromoterOps company sees Market instead of tour) and your module access: a module that is Off for you is not shown, and edit controls only appear where you have Edit.
Can I follow GigOps Sign documents on my phone?
Yes. In GigOps Company, open More > Signatures. Documents are split into Waiting, Signed and All. Open one to see each signer's status, the suggested changes, the files and the audit trail, and to read the PDF. With Edit access to Signatures you can send a draft that is ready, send a reminder, copy a signer's link, open your own link to sign, answer suggested changes and void a document. Uploading a PDF and placing fields stay on the web.
What is GigOps Scan for?
GigOps Scan turns a phone or tablet into a gate scanner for your credentials. The guard picks the zone, scans each pass or crew badge and gets a clear verdict (granted, zone denied, void, expired or no credential) with the holder, pass type, zones and photo, plus a sound and a vibration so they do not have to look at the screen. It keeps working without signal: it checks passes against a copy downloaded while online, saves every scan and uploads the log when the connection is back.
How do I connect a device to GigOps Scan?
Any of these works:
- The whole event: in the web app, open Credentials, go to Scan and choose Scanner app. Choose Create scanner app link, then scan the QR code with GigOps Scan (or paste the link). The device gets every zone and can scan offline. Keep this link to the devices your head of security runs.
- One gate: in Credentials, on a zone, choose Public link to get a scanner link for that gate only (live scanning only, no offline copy).
- Sign in with an office login or a crew login.
- Scan a security crew member's badge to sign the device in as them.
If a device is lost, open Scanner app again and choose Regenerate and Rotate key, or Disable the link.
What can a guard do at the gate with GigOps Scan?
- Pick the zone to scan for ("Any zone" checks identity only). A gate link fixes the zone.
- Lock the device to that zone with a PIN and/or the guard's own badge, so nobody can change it.
- Use the torch after dark; the screen stays awake while scanning.
- Look up a holder by name when a pass will not scan. This is a visual check only and is not logged.
- See the status pill: online or offline, scans waiting to upload, and when the device last synced.
- Open the scan log for the shift's tally and Upload now.
Do the apps send push notifications?
Yes, in GigOps Crew, GigOps Athlete and GigOps Company. Each asks to send notifications after sign-in, and then gets them even when it is closed: the same notifications the bell or Alerts tab shows. GigOps Scan sends none; its status pill shows what it needs to. If someone said no, they can turn notifications on again in the iPhone's Settings, under the app's name. While an app is open, the bell or Alerts tab also updates by itself.
How do I reset my password or delete my account from an app?
The GigOps Crew, GigOps Athlete and GigOps Company sign-in screens have Forgot your password?: GigOps emails a link to set a new password, and you then sign in in the app with it. To delete your account, open More > Account (GigOps Company: your account screen) and choose Delete your account, which opens an email to GigOps with the request ready to send. A Company Admin can also remove a crew login or a seat from the company in the web app.
