Money
Marketing
Marketing tracks what each show spends to sell: radio, digital, print, outdoor and street, planned against actual and against the deal's advertising budget. In the left menu, under Money, choose Marketing. Marketing is part of PromoterOps only.
How do I add marketing spend for a show?
- In the left menu, under Money, choose Marketing.
- Choose Add spend.
- Under For, pick the show.
- Pick the Channel: Radio, Digital, Print, Outdoor, Street or Other.
- Describe the buy under What (for example "Two-week radio flight") and pick a Vendor if you have one.
- Enter Planned and Spent, the Currency and the Date.
- Add Notes if you like, then choose Add.
You can enter the planned amount first and fill in Spent later.
How do I add a marketing buy that covers a whole Market?
- In Marketing, choose Add spend.
- Under For, pick the Market from the A whole Market group instead of a show.
- Fill in the channel, what, amounts and date, then choose Add.
A buy across a whole Market counts in that Market's totals on the By Market tab. It is never shown to a tour, because it is not one date's spend.
How do I edit or remove a marketing line?
- In Marketing, open the Every line tab (or the By show tab, then Lines on the show).
- Choose Edit on the line, change it and choose Save.
- To delete it, choose Remove and confirm.
Where does a show's advertising budget come from?
The Advertising budget column in Marketing shows what each show's spend is measured against:
- For a show booked from an accepted offer, it is the advertising agreed in the offer ("agreed in the offer"). When that cost was per ticket or a percent, it is worked out at a sellout.
- For any other show, it is the show's Marketing budget lines ("from the budget").
A show with neither says No budget set. Against the budget shows how much is left, or how much you are over.
What happens when a show goes over its advertising budget?
In Marketing, open the show from the By show tab with Lines. When spend is over the advertising budget, it says by how much. In the settlement with a linked tour, marketing comes in up to the advertising budget, and the amount over it stays yours.
How do I show a marketing line to the tour?
When a show is linked to a tour on GigOps, you can share single lines with them:
- In Marketing, tick Shown in the Tour column of the line, or
- When adding or editing the line, tick Show the tour.
The line then shows on the promoter link for that date, read-only, while your Marketing section on the link is switched on. Untick it to stop sharing.
What are the By show, By Market and Every line tabs in Marketing?
- By show: each show's planned and spent totals, its advertising budget and where it stands against it, with Lines to see that show's buys.
- By Market: each Market's totals in dollars at your FX rates, including buys across the whole Market.
- Every line: every buy, with its date, what it is for, channel, vendor, amounts and whether it is shown to the tour.
Why does Marketing say "No rate for" a currency?
Market totals are shown in dollars using your FX rates. When a line is in a currency with no rate set, Marketing says No rate for that currency. Add the rate under FX rates in the left menu, under Money, and the totals include it.
Who can edit marketing spend?
Company Admins and Company Users with the Manager, Finance or Legal role can add, edit and remove marketing lines. View only seats can read them. Ops and Coordinator seats do not see Marketing by default, because it is money. A Company Admin can change this for one person in their access settings.
