Ask GigOps

Ask GigOps is an assistant inside GigOps that answers questions in plain words. It can explain how to do something in the app, using this help guide, and it can look up your company's own records, such as shows, advances, invoices, vendors, contracts, incidents, crew, tickets, budget and settlements. Open it with the speech-bubble button in the top bar. It is read-only: it never changes or sends anything. Every Company User can use it, including View only seats.

How do I ask GigOps a question?

  1. In the top bar, choose the speech-bubble button (Ask GigOps).
  2. Type your question in Ask a question.
  3. Press Enter or choose Ask. The button reads Looking… while it works.

The answer appears under your question. You can keep asking follow-up questions in the same window; it remembers the last few questions and answers. The conversation stays until you reload the page.

What kinds of questions can it answer?

It can look at tours, shows, show schedules, advances, settlements, budget lines, invoices, vendors, RFPs and quotes, contracts, incidents, the crew roster and ticket counts.

How do I know where an answer came from?

Under each answer, a Looked at: line lists what it read, for example "the help guide, shows, a show's advance". If it tried something you do not have access to, that item says (no access). Answers name the show, vendor or person and the record a figure came from. Check anything important against the record itself before you act on it.

Why does it say I do not have access?

Ask GigOps looks things up as you. It can only read what your own seat can read, with the same access level, per-person module access and company settings you have on screen. For example, an Ops or Coordinator seat that cannot see invoices or settlements gets an answer saying so; the assistant does not work around it. If you need that information, ask a Company Admin to give you access in Users & access.

Can Ask GigOps change or send anything?

No. It only reads. It cannot create, edit or delete records, approve anything, send messages, emails or texts, or invite people. When it explains how to do something, you do it yourself on the screen it names.

How do I tell GigOps whether an answer helped?

Under each answer, Was this helpful? has Yes and No.

Your question, the answer and your note go to the GigOps team, who use them to improve the answers and this help guide. You then see "Thanks, that helps us improve the answers."

Can View only users use Ask GigOps?

Yes. Ask GigOps only reads, so View only seats can use it and can rate answers. It still only sees what a View only seat can read.

Why does Ask GigOps say it is not enabled?

Ask GigOps uses AI, which must be turned on for your company. If you see "Ask GigOps is not enabled for this workspace", or a message that AI parsing is switched off for this account, AI is not available for your company. A Company Admin cannot turn it on: it is controlled by GigOps. Contact GigOps Support. If you ask a lot of questions in a short time, you see "Too many requests" with how many seconds to wait. The limit is shared with the other AI features (about 30 requests in 15 minutes).

What if Ask GigOps does not know the answer?

If the help guide does not cover your question, it says so rather than guessing. You can tell the GigOps team what you were looking for with No under the answer, or send it from the avatar menu with Bugs & feature requests. If your records do not hold the answer (for example, a show has no advance yet), it says what is missing.
